2011 activities

While in London for the Climate March on the 3rd I met a founder-member of Transition Ipswich, Charles Croydon. The website, www.transitionipswich.org.uk gives a range of activities, some of which might suit Tunbridge Wells. What do people think? Philip.

Climate March and Service December 4th

Christians met for an ecumenical service in the West End before joining the Climate March at Speakers' Corner. The march was peaceful (so no publicity resulted) and ended in Parliament Square where Caroline Lucas MP, Michael Meacher MP, Phil Thornhill of the Climate Campaign and others addressed the crowd of thousands. Heart of Community Awards

Transition Tunbridge Wells has been shortlisted for an award. All depends now on securing the largest number of votes for the awards. There are two of £1,000 and six of £500. To cast your vote, you need to fill in and post the coupon on page 34 of the Courier for December 3rd, entering the number 108. The closing date is December 17th, but we need to start NOW if we are to collect a reasonable number of votes. Philip.
